I break the silence. Time the camera and sit with my boys as I do most days. My inner-ugly collided with breathtaking beauty. My shame shrunk within the beams of smiles. The unending "to do" stood still with the close of a shutter and my mistakes bagged in self condemnation lifted a tiny bit lighter. Against the backdrop of a non-propped, only blush on cheeks, candid memory clicked, I accepted more of me.
Even in the mess there is more than meets the eye. Join me in front of the camera.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI am following you from Playdates. Love your pictures. You capture amazing "life". But someone else must have taken these shots today? or did you set the timer?
Blessings,

Janis, thank you for stopping by. Yes, I set my camera and put it on a timer. : )
DeleteThank you for this lovely post, photos and post and beautiful music. I am saying hi over here from Emily's blog. I can really relate to what you are saying about shame and letting love and enjoyment of your kids draw you out. Everything here was just lovely and such a refreshment to me this morning. Bless you, Susan
