wearing happiness with a long sleeved grin.
A heart whose doors were always open,
Working hands who fixed, formed and firmed
His shoulders stood straight, poised and proud
His back held honor from humble beginnings

Five children kissed the apple of his eye,
seven grandchildren hugged his pant-leg hems.
A Winnebago trip rolls giddy down history,
giggling off the tongues of six young men
He casted his bread upon the waters,
the common man he called a friend.
Hunt, Texas rivers ripple with
peace,
while hill country curves still whisper
his name,
“Papaaaaaa”.
