The High Calling's photo challenge is to capture the sounds of Christmas through photography.
So, we were to create words that speak to noise and capture holiday sounds with photographs.
I couldn't help but think of the sounds I wouldn't hear this year.
Psalms of the Promised Land
Her psalms which have long-parted
Echo soft in memories clinched
Echo soft in memories clinched
Yet she sings of hymns in the Promised Land
Carols of she and the children at play
Fade with brushes of the wind with
Her pslams which are long-parted
Her pslams which are long-parted
A different clatter among the home
Her abscense…the silence rings
Yet she sings of hymns in the Promised Land
Christmas can’t be kept from coming
Nor can the thief who steals, who kills
her psalms which have long-parted
Glory holds frailty up toward heaven
And knits the holiday noise this year with
Her psalms which have long-parted
Her psalms which have long-parted
Yet she sings of hymns in the Promised Land
